Banbridge Area Learning Community - BALC

The following seven schools are involved in the community:

Southern Regional College (SRC) via Schools' Partnership Programme:

Learning Communities exist to develop collaborative practice between member institutions in order to increase the number of subjects which students can choose to study at Key Stage 4, in line with the Department of Education’s (DOE) initiative of the Entitlement Framework. The framework highlights that pupils must have access to a minimum number of subjects, one third of which must be academic and one third applied.

Rathfriland High School is involved in collaborative courses with Southern Regional College (SRC) and in addition schools within the Banbridge Area Learning Community (BALC).

Years 11 & 12	SRC Newry A variety of courses on offer at both the Greenbank and Patrick Street Campuses.	Wednesdays All Day (Occupational Studies)
