Year 10 trip to the Museum of Orange Heritage

Last Thursday, those pupils who will be studying GCSE History next year travelled down to Belfast to the Museum of Orange Heritage. The pupils received two sessions, one on the Williamite war and the other on World War One, delivered by Dr Jonathan Mattison and David Scott. These were extremely informative sessions and the pupils gained a beneficial insight into these events.
Our visit coincided with the 80th anniversary of VE Day and we were privileged to be asked to lay a wreath to mark the occasion on behalf of the school. This was a poignant experience for our pupils. Of course, no school trip would be complete without the customary trip to McDonalds on the way home!! Our pupils were a delight to take and a credit to the school.
A huge thank you to the Museum of Orange Heritage in partnership with Translink who made this trip possible.
